Got there for half five, as i was walking along the pier i could see the the gulls diving into the water adjacent to the bend, so thought i would try there with some daylights, nothing first cast, then on the second cast, i went to reel in and the handle went loose quickly realised i had lost the nut off it, i managed to get my line in but i could'nt find the nut on the deck so it must have fallen through into the sea.
a lad just along from me kindly offered me the use of his rod as he was instructing his young son with his other rod, i gratefully declined as i have nt had the best of luck lately and did nt want to risk knacking the lads rod, stayed and watched them reel in mackerel every other cast.
Bit downhearted but nice to have met this hospitable gentlemen and his polite son, if you are on this sight thank you again for the offer to use your rod and i hope you continued catching.
