Got down there at about 3-30am. Met one other chap walking out. Fished end of pier, Nothing doing for first hour and a half then the makkie appeared. Ended up with four nice ones myself, lost another two lifting them out. Other lads that joined us on the end were catching as well.
Two lads on the bend seemed to be catching quite a few.
Fish were being caught over a period of about 90 minutes then went quiet again apart from some good size sandeels.
Had to leave at 7-30 but would estimate about 20-25 makkie taken in that time.

Well done mate, if the seas stay calm they should start showing in better numbers. Unfortunately, so will the number of chavs :D

Early morning seems to be the best time at the moment.

Cheers, Gary :)

Passed quite a few chavs heading down as I came back into Blyth. Thats why i get up and go early.
I was also on the pier from 5 am, seems like I missed all the action as nothing was caught after 5.15 ! me & my mate stayed untill 8.45 nothing doing so headed home, when we left the pier there was only two people left on, one fishing into the toms & the other on the end.
NO CHAVS !!
