Blyth Pier today

Thought I'd have a chuck off Blyth pier this afternoon as there was a nice south easterly sea running and high tide was around 1 ish. Just got parked in the car park when a few anglers arrived back from the pier with reports of not many fish, only 3-4 on the pier. Not very promising I thought, but went along anyway. 1st cast, baited with lug and runnydowns that had been in my fridge for 10 days and totally dead, I soon got a bite, but missed it. Same again 2nd cast, 3rd cast, got one, but only about 1lb, put it back alive. 4th cast, codling about 1/12lb. Bites came just about every cast but didn't connect with a few of them. Ended up with 4 codling and one coalie which was easily size and released.
As it got dark, the bites disappeared, maybe cos I ran out of runnydown:confused: or the tide was dropping away and getting shallow:confused: I don't know, but with the wind howling, I decided it was time for tea, so off I tootld home thoroughly enjoyed the session. Couple of pics:D:D must have had camera setting on the pier wrong, over exposed
