fished it last night just after the bend ( on the way to the end) and left this on the railing's Ron Thompson Velcro rod holder : Miscellaneous Ron Thompson Velcro rod holder | Gerry's Fishing bit of a long shot but did anyone find it ? i know they only cost three quid plus p&p but it was only the 2nd time i had used it . regards davey

i know this is dosnt have anything to do with your ron thompson thing.

but here is what i have used for many moons now, think its about 15year old when i was a kid. even got a prize in sea angler for putting it in the tip section lol

i have a section of plumbing tube, cut a slit in it so you can open up the tube. then drill 4 off holes and fit 4off small bolts, heads from the inside of the tube, thread will be on the outside of the pipe. fit a small nut to hold the bolt in place then shrink tube over the thread of the bolts to protect your rod.

the one i made is around 6'' - 8'' long and can hold 2 rods in place, stops them from sliding in the wind or heavy seas
easy to clip on and off the railings on the pier or boat

inexpensive if you ever forget it.
