went to blyth harbour today with my two grandsons as it was rhys birthday he is 13 today.
got them some rag and Mackie for them also got them two rods for Christmas
as they have just started to show some interest in fishing.
nothing at all for 3 hrs the rhys got a very small codling then after about 30 mins hit another small codling,
the other grandson calam got nowt but it was a few hrs fishing and they enjoyed it got to 4pm started to go cold and some rain so time to go home.
for me it was great to see my grandsons fishing hope they do take up the sport then they can take me :D

well done on the grandson getting the codling was on the pier the day 2 till 6.30 not much showing hand full of rocklings two codling and a coley but was good sport

Well Done Mate ! Looking like another two recruits to our sport, cannot wait to take my three out fishing but no interest from them as yet !

cheers.

aa.

yes I do hope they take up the sport I enjoyed just going out with them as the banter between two brothers was great I was just the referee :D.
I can always get them some better gear later on as they have asked when are we going again grandad :red: so the interest is there.
intend to take them out trout fishing in the school summer hols

Dale, if you intend on taking the kids trout fishing then the Northumbrian Waters reservoirs (Fontburn, Derwent, Kielder etc) allow bait fishing and up to 2 juniors can go free with a paying adult and share the bag limit which is 8 fish. If you'd rather take them to a smaller fishery then South Linden, Caistron and Higham all cater for bait fishing.

Hope this helps.
