I was there today and lads were getting plenty flounders with rag and lug

I've just come off the pier and there was nothing doing to feathers or various lures, but loads of flatties on worm baits from the end of the pier.

I did manage to catch one fish - the biggest sandeel I've ever seen, a good 14 inches long, caught on a white Redgill fished near the surface.

Not exactly what I was hoping for, but since the coalies weren't playing ball, beggars can't be choosers...

On hindsight I should have kept it for bait for Beadnell this weekend - I thought of doing that right about when I watched it swim away out of the drop net...
