Boat Fishing Braid Or Line???

I always ease the drag off a bit let some slack out and then pull it free with me gloves on.
What ever works for you I suppose, not a fan of wrapping it round things tho.

Thems me manly orange gloves in the background, their defo not pink lol.

You can do it that way but it is putting an enormous amount of stress on your multiplier. Easiest way is to let a bit of slack out then wrap the braid 3 or 4 times around your rod butt 6in from the bottom then hold the rod upright.

Yes , I wondered about the damage it might be doing to my reels , we've tried a few different ways of pulling for a break , but most of them end up in a break at the boat sooner or later , I think it's when you get the line crossed over itself on whatever you are using to wrap it on , it cuts through itself. I imagine it will make a mess of a rod butt as well does it not? It's like bloody cheese wire lol. I'll try the rod butt method , half the problem is looking for the stick/glove/towel or whatever whilst the drift is taking more and more line from the reel ......... the rod butt should be easy enough to find
