Boat Missing!

Very sad news about the two lads and its looking like not having a good ending. Just could not believe the story about those idiots setting off flares but Im afraid that until some sort of discipline is restored to society in general by the powers that be, we shall continue hearing such horror stories whatever the tragedy. As Tony quite rightly said, our Emergency Services are having to put up with being pelted with bricks etc, etc, whilst going about their business in protecting and saving decent law abiding people and its high time that the morons responsible for abusing them are dealt with once and for all. All my thoughts are with those two lads and their families.

I agree totally - wor kid is a fireman in Torquay and even down there they have areas that they do not respond to fire calls unless given a police escort due to brick throwers or firework throwers. They recon that one day the delay waiting for an escort will cost the life but they feel powerless.

We should take a leaf out of Singapore\'s book they are really hard on offenders and they therefore have a very low level of crime.

Just heard on the local news that there boat has been discovered (they think),apparently there is evidence of diesel oil in the sea in the area they were searching.

heard on the news that the tyne lifeboat had picked up a lrge trace on the sonar that was \'unknown\' in the same area

Aye , during the search yesterday, one of the boats came accross a diesel patch and \"some wreckage\". On further inverstigation an \"object\" was detected on the sea bed beneath it.

It\'s reported that they\'ve been trying to identify the \"object\" and hope to be able to confirm that it is, indeed, the missing boat.

never rains but it pours :(

my heart goes out to the family. What they must be going through is terrible, whats the world coming to? sometimes i wonder...there is no sign of justice.
god bless the two lads on the boat.

Yes \"odd\" Dave.

I was down at the coast the day the \"Jann Denise\" went missing.

Excellent visibility, sea wasn\'t flat, but certainly wasn\'t \"rough\" and a very strong W. wind.

The following day was a different story, though.....sea looked ROUGH.

Looks like whatever happened, happened VERY quickly.

Had a quick chat with a mate of mine tonight (Mon) he\'s an ex skipper of a trawler, and was out on the search, his notion is they hit a wave wrong as they were comming in ... instead or riding it the nose of the boat went down under the waveand it went down,, the divers who swam over & around the boat said there was no dammage at all to the boat,,there were no sos\'s ... he also said something about the size of the boat, it was not big enough to require an inflatable life boat, You know the sort, it inflates when in contact with water,,something to do with regulations I think,, although Im not to sure,,,
