a family member of mine has a 16ft boat he,s looking for moorings or some place to launch it from all the local ramps have gates across . he,s local from blyth . has had his name down for blyth boat club for months no joy yet . any ideas , cheers jamcod
There will be moorings are available at the Royal Quays Marina, Quay Marinas: UK marinas in Bangor, Conwy, Deganwy, Penarth, Portishead, Rhu & Royal Quays - Royal Quays at north shields and probably at StPeter’s marina a lot further up the river.
A much cheaper option is to get a key for the ramp at Cullercoats, from the lifeguards’ station there when it opens in May. There is another ramp at South Shields run by the council and one at Seaton Sluice with an tricky looking dog-leg.
fairly sure he can join the club, even if there`s no space in the yard, or all mooring`s are covered, am not 100%, but my m8 lives in whitly bay, travels to blyth, launches from there and is a member, so you should go up and ask m8.
If you speak to Arthur Cranson the coastal warden at the old fort (blyth seafront) , he'll be able to give you a launch licence for seaton sluice and a barrier key. Not sure on costs but quite cheap last time i asked
Hi there, think membership is closed I've been waiting ages to no avail. Does anybody have phone number for Arthur Cranson? That dog leg at sluice is not the only slip there is one behind the Melton too
