At Last

At Last

Not much to look at but it floats...!

50hp main and 10hp aux (although the little merc 110 runs on fumes, so it tends to get used for everything :) )

Can normally be spotted within a few miles of Coquet Island.

Black Betty

Black Betty

After almost two years without a boat I have bought another one. The cat I dreamed of was out of the budget as we had to move house before Christmas.

I picked her up on Saturday and towed her North no bother. My middle laddy came with me to pick her up and named her Betty to which I added the other name after one of my favourite songs.
I am sorting the name stickers this week.
I am planning on putting her in Amble Marina this season solely due to the fact that my folks live at Amble and my Mam always feeds me when I go to theirs which is always a bonus!
I can't wait to get her out fishing but have got a few little jobs to do first.
See you's out there!

Graham.

Nice boat, where do you fish just now and what do you catch? The marina looks pleasantly rural and quiet.

I anchor in the colder months when the water is mucky and the fish need a big, smelly bait locked onto the bottom. By mid spring conditions are better for drifting with baited lures over hard ground inshore before the wreck fishing starts.
Over the last few seasons I've found the wrecks less than reliable so mostly fish long, lazy drifts inshore. They're two very different types of fishing and both have their attractions.
