Don’t you lads just wear trainers? Mine smell anyway so adding fishy bits won’t make them much worse. They comfortable and give good grip without marking.

like norman i also agree i wear steel capped trainers on the boat all year round but to combat the odd swamping with the water bucket i wear sealzskin thermal waterproof socks normaly about £22 on ebay they do exactly what it says on the packet never had wet or cold feet since. the trainers just go in the washer when they start to ming a bit.
