Boyes shop in Chester le street (Front street) canny bits n bobs at the back of store got some 6oz grippers £1 and loads of different feathers 59p few beachcaster and reels worth a look if your after something not to pricey.

boyes is cheap for feathers and hooks and swivels ...are ok stuff from fladen...not the best but cracking if u just startin out on a tight budget...got my first 13 footer from boyes i loved it to bits pulled me many a fish in, a floppy stick in comparison to what i use now but i still use it . i still make it a point to stop in boyes when i pass one .

ive never found a gripper cheaper than a £1. Tackle shops are way more expensive.:eek:

Been thinking about starting to make my own for that reason.

Ive found Boyes to be good. just got my brother a 12ft beach rod with fladen reel and line for £22. Ill stick some shock leader on and a snap swivel and hes ready to start. Probably join the chavs on the pier..:D

If you can list these cheaper shops that would help....:yltype:

Redcar angling have been selling all the feathers cheaper than Boyes...;)

my opionion is if you buy cheap gear you end up buying twice as they dont last 2 mins so why not just add the little extra and support your local tackle shop;)
