Braid Advice

Thinking about spooling up with braid this year, never used it before and would appreciate a little advice.
I'll be fishing from my mate's 18ft boat and mostly over rough ground and the odd wreck he has charted when weather permits.
I normally use a 20-30lb class rod and Shimano TLD15 reel so the first question I need to ask is which braids shall I consider and which ones shall I avoid?
Will a 30lb braid be my best choice?
I've read its advisable to use a mono leader with braid is this true and if so which is the best knot to use?

Any other things I need to know your advice would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks

Myself and a few others use Dynon 3000 55lb.

I don't bother with a mono leader it would be a pain renewing it after every snag.

Use a mono backing below the braid though.

spot on with keith, we`ve been using 55lb Dynon 3000 (and lettting everyone know lol) for several years now. Again I don`t bother with a leader of mono (although I`m sure mr AC will bollock me again) as it`s too much hassle, when you get a snag and have to break off which does happen now and again ;) its always at the trace knot it breaks and the braid remains intact so just clip on another baited trace and down she goes. ................. phew almost feels like the seasons started.

Ta Fellas useful stuff.
Now where can I find the cheapest Dynon and lastly which Knot would I use for tying Braid to swivel.

Thanks again.

Jeff and I have been using PowerPro braid for a long time now, we uptide / downtide
all the time and dont have a problem with it. I use a leader all the time for obvious reasons
but then again thats just my opinion. The last time I was in Houston I bought some 1500 yd
spools from the BassPro shop and they were about $124 each, now that is cheap anyway you look at it.
Rokmax (UK) are selling 300 yd spools for around 17.75 GBP - 01 872 864 422, you also get a little booklet in the dispenser which shows you all the knots and how to tie them.
Give it a try you will not be disappointed.
