braid on a 7000c

Would 50 odd pound power pro be ok on a 7000c ? What do you multi/braid users reckon. Obviously I'll use a rubbing leader.

What I have found best on a multi is the spectra gear mate, thin line tends to dig in when you pull from a snag but spectra with it being thicker is ok and found mono leader best on the multi to just feels less harsh on ya thumb.

ive put 70lb spectra on my 7000. its still thinner than 30lb mono with less chance of digging in. no need for a leader.

I'd recommend a leader personally.
If you have one at, say 60lb, then your snoods at 50lb with a 50lb rotten bottom as well you'll find that you lose little end tackle.
I use this sort of set-up myself and I find I manage to straighten a few hooks rather than lose them. If you do get stuck with a lead it'll have more chance of being rescued with a 50lb rotten bottom. If you went straight-through with 70lb all the way and got stuck fast you could lose a lot of line.

not with 20lb rotten bottoms and 30lb hooklengths i wont.

why put a 60lb leader on 70lb mainline?

I use mono as a leader just to take the chaffing on rock edges.
The fact that it's 60lb is neither here nor there really. It's just that a lighter stregnth leader will snap leaving you with all your mainline if for any reason it get's fouled up. The lighter hook lengths and rotten bottom, of say 20 and 30lbs are fine on relatively clear bottoms but if you you have something stronger then, as I know to my advantage, instead of losing lead or hook, I tend to mostly always straighten the hook.

The chances of getting lead and hook back with 50lb snoods and rotten bottom is far greater.

what i would tell you is look at the diameter of the mono you have been using and buy the braid the same i think i was 1 of the first on here to use braid on a multiplier about 9 yr ago there is no better one to use than POWER PRO i use 100 lb on a abu 7500 there is no need for a leader, i fish mostly rock marks over the last 2 seasons i have snapped the braid only once it cast very well without bait on on the beach i can get 150 yds maybe 100 yds when fishing hope this helps you
