braid on a multiplier

its a simple question... I,ve now seen braid in action on a fixed spool reel and am very impressed [how thin it is even though the breaking strain is good, the distance cast was very impressive] can you use braid on a multiplier with or without a level wind? and the reasons for and against.... thanks

i use it on a 5500 casting up to 120yds. ive never had any problems with it.

best not to use light/fine stuff. heavier line gives more thickness and less chance of digging in.

i also use fireline which is a fused, round braid.

I've got a penn affinity and have a braid spool what size braid should i use to cast over the moon but still be able to handle big fish and 6ounce weights I've looked into its low stretch and every thing else but with it been expensive wanna buy it once and get it right

you tie mono to the lead m8 ( shock lead ) , other wise it just wouldnt snap and the tide will claim your gear. lol.

I didn't think you could use braid on a muti but with it being so thin why not. I've never used it before but ill think ill be getting some for my slosh. It'll be good for the rock ends.

Cheers bolta. The only thing is how much backing mono would you use. It looks like enough just to cover the spool. I think ill be giving it ago.

i got my slosh 30 loaded with 80lb braid and a bit 40lb mon just covering the width of the spool as backing, casts great, fantastic in the rough stuff

i have 80lb power pro on my slosh 20 & have used it off the rocks for 2 seasons now with no probs. i also have 40lb braid on a old 7ht off the beaches & 525 mag with 80lb braid, u dont need alot of backing m8 just cover the spool as said, its mainly just 2 stop line slip. i dont use a leader at all on my reels off the rocks, even with a rig body of 60-80lb mono its the rig body that goes or the 40lb amnesia snood.

i have used power pro on my abu 7500 for over 7 seasons now and would never swop back to mono this season I am using 109 lb about the same diameter as 20lb mono & used it off the rocks, I dont use alot of backing . i dont use a leader at all on my reels I use a rig body of 80lb mono and 40lb amnesia snood. And I can honestly say I have never snapped the braid all season
