Braid on Daiwa7HT..?

Thinking of loading my 7HT with braid and a mono leader for scratching and summer flatties and bass on clean ground. Just what to see how much more feel you can get..

Will that cause any problems? And what strength braid is best - 15lb? - or heavier?

Thanks for any advice and happy new year:)

15lb braid will be as thin as a hair lol, it'll be a nightmare if ya get the slightest fluff!
I use 20lb braid on a fixed spool for summer flatty fishing, it's a million times better than mono :)
I did try it on an abu 6000 a few year ago and it was more bother than it was worth :(

I've been running a Daiwa Saltist with 66lb Power Pro for a few months now and it works a treat. Casts really well, you can see every little nibble of the bait and it is strong as you like for pulling out of snags. Only downside is it bounces around like crazy in a big sea due to the lack of stretch.

For what you are proposing I'd suggest 44lb Power Pro, it is a round profile braid that is vital for using on a multi and at .28mm diameter will still be user friendly and cast well.

Definitley worth a go; I was sceptical until I made the switch and now I'm looking to run one of my 7HT Mags with braid as well as the Saltist. Only other this is I always carry a spare reel loaded with mono just in case I get a blow up (I haven't had a crack-off in years but never say never) but I'd do the same with mono on my reels as a proper birdie when fishing means swapping out the reel usually anyways.

I was told on multipliers for beach casting to stick to the same diameter braid as the mono you use and if you get a fast hold use a glove to break off unless you want a handful of fingers
