not the ones that flee aboot:exclam:

not the ones that pull a wheelie on the high street:exclam:

not the ones that give it 6000revs and make the old folks drop their shi, sorry shopping:exclam:

not the ones that gie the polis a tough time tryin tae catch them:exclam:

not the ones that are in and oot like a hebridean weavers needle:exclam:

not the thousands that drive sedately and with consideration for others:exclam:

who then:question:

its them that spend hundreds or maybe thousands on a bike ,they got the crash helmet, the gloves and the jacket:), but just jeans and trainers on the bottom:question:

theres a formula somewhere about sliding over tarmac at speed and how quickly layers of normal clothing disappear, depending on the speed sadly its p.d.q.

Aye Duncan, you're dead right. I was a biker for many years till my back and wrists decided to give in, it still makes me cringe when i see bikers riding with shorts and t-shirts on :o. Cheese and grater come to mind :o.

I remember going to buy a helmet for my first bike when aged 17, the guy in the shop brought out a helmet, and said there you go £20.00, i screwed up my face and said, "I was looking for something around a tenner"...the guy said "Youngun, if you've got a ten pund heed, buy a ten pund hat", that stuck with me and i always bought good gear after that...and tested it out a few times...:(

Agree guys, I've done the arse-slide when I was in my late teens, at about 60mph out of a corner and as a lot of people will tell you the first instinct when you're sliding is to put your hands down to steady/slow yourself - so damned glad I had decent gloves and bike pants on that evening!

leathers on ,bike went from under me ,bike went 100 yards ,me 200 yards hole in shoulder to the bone hole in bum ,would have been a lot worse if i hadnt them on .its just asking for trouble no matter how good you are on a bike.

:D you were lucky:exclam:

i do hope you dont mind me making a comment about hole in bum,is it not meant to be there:question: or was this an extra one:question::D

Been riding bikes for 33 years and would never leave the house without my leathers on, even if its just popping to the shops, seen many a nasty accident during my time but only involved in 2 myself (car drivers fault), my first bike was a brand new T reg (1977) yamaha dt175mx and my current bike is a Suzuki B King 1340cc, as you can tell i love bikes but would never advise anyone to get one today as you must have 100% attention at all times, the amount of times i have had a smidsy is at least once a week, (sorry mate i didnt see you).
