Breakaway accessory kit

Just after a bit of advice from those in the know. I've just got myself a beta box with the conversion kit for the pricely sum of £12 (bargain I know). I've been looking at the accessory kit to go with it but just wanted to know of they are any good? The reel holders seem a good idea but I read somewhere that they don't hold sloshes very well and I use one of those and an abu 7000. The shelf itself could be quite useful but I can see it being more useful for forceps, pliers etc rather than leads. Are they really any tidier than tubs?

its a neat idea ...in practice for me ...my leads are too big to fit in securely . i tend to use the shelf to slot scissors pliers etc. personally i wouldnt bother i would just use tubs /...

Best thing about it is the catch lock to be honest, although the lead shelf is kinda handy, I find bomb shaped leads stay in if you give them a good push, waste of time for pear shaped leads. I wouldn't bother if I didn't already have it

I have them in my box but never use the reel holders, If you have a lot of stuff in your box then your reels will get scratched to bits

With the lid up it makes your box easier to fall over in the slightest wind.

Waste of time imo,your sinkers fly out all over the shop,reel holders only fit 65 size reels,then they get knocked to kingdom come,if fishing sandy beaches they get full of sand:thumbdown:
Anything that fits in/on the shelf will fall out,n will be floating around the bottom of your box,best with tub/boxe's for me.Like all ready mentioned the box catch is prob the best bit,avail seperate anyways,only cost around £1.30a nice helpfull gadget imo.

The best reel holders are zip sliders used for fixed spools , you can bolt them with spacers for bigger multis to your box lid and they work fine , put a lid lock on to save it slamming in the wind , I made my own sinker tray , I'll get some picks for ya

Nothing wrong with a nice heavy duty plastic tub for ya sinkers! Stops em falling out all over the place. Also you can buy cheap padded reel bags off amazon, mine was cheap as chips but very well padded so I'm happy leaving my reel just in the box so long as its inside the reel cover

One accessory I would say is worth getting is the side tray. I use mine all the time; keep my baiting-up stuff in it - scissors, elastic, bait needles, tea towel, etc, dead handy having the tray there when you're sitting on the box sorting a bait out.

Those zip reel holders look a much better idea than the breakaway ones. I think for now though I'll stick with some plastic tubs and reel bags and see how I get on with it.
Andyco - I've got a side tray which is definatley a god send when baiting, my dad has one with his box and it's ideal. I'd find myself sat on his shakey box when he wasn't, having gone from one of the little daiwa compartment boxes which are good but uncomfortable when out for hours. That reminds me, must get some Velcro for the cusion!

Agree with Andy, love my little side tray and very handy! Saves constantly having to open box to find stuff that you use pretty often... Scissors, elastic etc....
