has anyone been here . we are thinking of going for a holiday in 6 weeks hols. i am more interested in what the fishing is like and access with my 11 year old daughter. as she will be fishing as well . as i dont fancy climbing down cliffs with bairn.

visited last summer with the view to staying there wa sels, looks a great site to stop at, plenty to do, pitch and put, own little fishin pond, bar ;)etc got its own little beach but dunno what the fishins like. would make a great base tho' its a beautiful neck o the woods and thas plenty o good marks along that coast.

Me and my mate have fished the area twice in the past but never had any look from the bay itself but i suspect on the right day the area could be full of doggies due to the millions of lugworm casts, lots of mussels and plenty of crabs in the bay area, apparently most people fish the rocky areas round the corner of the bay but i dont know what the access is like- i do know there is a footpath that goes round but have never been along.

cracking site mate and the fishing is easy, you dont need to scale cliffs,i took my daughter and my wife and they caught loads of fish, best place is to the right of the bay, loads of spot to try for pollock, doggies, wrasse, mackeral etc, fishing up to high water and over is best i found.we had fish on the float, spinners and bottom fishing:) if you want to drive a couple of miles to the west the manxman is also an easy shot for your daughter, but mind you get cut of for a few hours at high water because of the gulley behind you:D. also if you have strong south to south westerly wind dont bother fishing on the shore,go to kirkcubright harbour for flatties:D:D
