Cadiz last week

Watched some locals fishing from the sea wall in Cadiz last week. One had a float and 3 hooks on his line. He just used lumps of bread as bait. You could sea the fish below in shoals of 20 to 30 fish within 10metres of the wall. The bread just washed off his hooks & the fish guzzled it up as it floated away. Eventually one took the hook (by mistake) & he pulled it in. It was about 400mm, he said they called it a "lisa" (as in mona). Does anyone recognize it?
