Caistron near Rothbury

Has anyone tried this fishery,heard a few good reports but nothing from the horses mouth sort of speak ?

hi alan this is a very pituresque lake which is for both fly and worm anglers with a number of islands on it the depth varies from just 2 foot onwards it an old gravel works it has boats on which can be hired at £10 per day supply your own engine battery powered the lake was stocked last season with a net accross the water in one section to hold the fish in where the anglers would have had what would have been some easy pickings until the net colapsed hence the fish scattered and with such a small number of stock fish in such a large place it was hard going the owner said he would be putting in a large stocking for the forth comming season! if you blanked last year you weren\'t charged to fish but i think it will be different this season...hope this is of some help
