Fished tonight with Ian, was a planned late start because i have been babysitting all day.
Was 5pm before we had a line in the water, first drop and fish immediatly mostly all small coalies, it was wicked with them. Ian then started pulling in blegs, and they were not small some of them 2lb or over and in one instance a full string of blegs of around 2lb.
We had to wait a little while for the first codling to come aboard, but for the first hour and a half of fishing it was non stop, a lot of it small.
Got a huge pull and struck into one and i was almost certain it was a doubler , rod bent over double and a good scrap, was a foul hooked cod of around 7lb. Fishing sort of tailed off a little towards the end, but we managed half a dozen cod with the smallest about 4lb, a shed loads of blegs.
Not one mackeral today, the water was still dirty within 2-3 miles of the piers, all my codling were taken on the jigger with a muppet on the treble. Enjoyed the short session, we were back in the marina for around 7.30 so only 2.5 hours fishing.
