i'd give it a miss if i were u m8, i have fished it alot & had good bags of fish ect but never been on for 3 years now just not worth the risk. heard of 1 lad go through & was badly hurt many broken bones & a m8 that i was walking along with went through but his box stopped him going rite through the pier.
if u must go get on 2 big roper on B.S.A he fishes it all the time with 2 more m8's he might show u along.

as already mentioned by bilzo, i wouldn't bother, full sections of timbers missing now, long sections have no railings at all, the planks that are there are rotten and move underfoot, it is now also fire damaged in parts (vandals and fireworks), not good at all. the middle gate was welded up early last year and covered in anti vandal paint (somebody bent the prongs over so you can still climb around the outside though you may get covered in grease), or you can wade along the rocks at the bottom and try climbing up the rotten ladders). also it's not open to the public, so classed as trespassing. if you do go on i wouldn't post catch reports on here as it is largely frowned upon as it is out of bounds.
apart from that it's all good........

I hate being the bairrar of bad news but I hate to see other fishermen waste their time and effort, I work at the harbour and been working on the pier/lighthouse for the last month doing bits and pieces. Because of all the damage/vandalism it's getting even more steel welded to both gates and soon (next year) to the end gate. I understand where they're coming from because we have just painted the light house with it costing alot they won't want graffiti all over it again! If anyone must fish it walk along the concrete below the timber (in good conditions only!) and make sure u don't damage anything and it's possible it won't get the extra steel etc on!

Cheers n sorry C

Its only ever the chavs in the summer that cause any damage. Cracking mark, once again spoilt by the few idiots.

Its in a bad state m8 stay clear, i am fishing the rocks down ther tomorrow morning i will get a couple pics and post them up for you, there will be someone hurt on that pier take my word for that just make sure its not you.

john.

walking along blyth harbour one lunchtime me and a friend were looking across at someone trying to go round the outside of the first gate with another guy in tow...only to see him vanish over the other side, and if i remember correctly its rocky below so im sure he learnt his lesson painfully.

Here is the state of the Cambois North Pier from the 2cnd gate and the railings from there, not very good pics but gives you an idea the state of it god knows what the sleepers are like i wouldnt fish it if you gave me a Golden Pig,

john.
