The seas going to start coming away through the night and tomorrow mate. Best time to go wiil be wed night with a big swell on but question mark over cambois pier mate. Better off fishing blyth pier if u want to fish in that area.

a lad i know had a couple of sessions on cambois when conditions were spot on and he got nowt either small coalie, he says definately not worth the chew or risk on there , hes started going to shields pier and roker and hadston ,sugersands and hes had some canny fish since:rolleyes:

i no there are not a lot of fish but if you only go out with rag and squid you havnt got the best chance of fish i wouldnt go out if that was all i had

Obviously thats all the bairn had! When i was younger i used to go with just mackerel. You don't catch sat in the house!!

Well done on getting out Richie. Next time you're over there try the ramp in front of the silo's over low water. Fish just left of the rocks at the bottom of the ramp.

Thanks all for the imput but ive caught loads of fish on squid n rag lol i always have more baits but was skint with xmas coming up ok (THECODFATHER) everyone is different mate;)

(seanyrooroo) av tried that area in the early summer months & caught coalies n flatties, ill try the low water mark sometime thx for that.

(Cod,cod, cod!) cambois pier is still good but only when fish show up, fished blyth pier many times and is still good to go on for a sesh or 2:cool: will try thursday night, im getting the feeling it only fishes after a swell, big sea etc.. thats when av caught before see.

(The Plum) you can get some canny sessions on the pier most times that is:rolleyes:

(anndy) aye same here i catch most fish on thos baits but i do agree i take most baits when i go out but was skint lol/

I was refering to yr safety mate

Got to admit I'm torn about this...on the one hand the lad's out fishing and catching fish (which is more than me) but the choice of venue is a dodgy one in my opinion and by posting catch reports and then bigging it up only encourages people to endanger themselves

Soz for being a boring fart but there you go

i agree with you mate its been said a few times to the same bloke ,he was posting about getting on wich way ect saying he knows what hes doin ect ,then on a post a week or so ago he admits hes new to pier fishing ,i for one know how dangerous this place is ,i fished it years ago and it wasnt as rotten ect then, i saw the light and went to better and safer venues ,and the sea can turn so quick if it does your in **** street ,i often think how some innocent guy or guy would just go for a stint after reading about it then a slip ect, fall off the fence ect or worse cop a nice swell what everyone thinks doesnt happen but it does the boards were getting waved off years ago and still are,i think its ridiculous that hes posting about an insane place such as this and i think a mod should wipe them off ,but hey thats just me and im glad at least someone else agrees with me ,i hope im not being a bore but its my view and hope nothing does occur ,all the best to the forum lads and tight lines the plum :)

they would not of built a wind farm on it. if it was not safe
i am in no way saying it is safe to fish that is personal choice .

Nope but the locked gate and barbed wire give you a clue that you should not be on there.
Whatever your wanting to do

dont want to do owt just asking never fished up that way so i am not going to know if i knew that i would not of asked.

The pier is damaged and very dangerous, but as ive said before just be very careful and i never go on when theres a big swell and i know never to go on when its high tide as i go well before high tide & come off at low tide.. i cant say nothing more about this topic now but apart from im never reportin this mark again thanks lads for the imput:(

I have on other forums simply heard this mark reffered to as mark X.
Simply so inexprienced people would not know where it is and not attempt to fish it .
Might be an idea in the future as there are new people joining here all the time.

yes cambois pier is in a state of dis-repair, and you are not allowed on there, (even more so since a few rogue fireworks set fire to part of it, boards burnt right through all over, big holes everywhere, loose planks, and most of the railings are rotten or missing) everyone knows mark's which are dangerous / illegal or both. personal choice, as long it doesn't endanger anyone elses life etc. there was a save the pier campaign best part of 25 years ago, don't know what ever happenned to the proceeds mind. if memory serves a lad fell through the pier few years back and smashed his leg badly, ambulance etc, apparantley tried to sue the port of blyth afterwards. so probably best / safer if everyone just stays away from cambois pier altogether. blyth pier is a good option and much less crowded...... and you stand a good chance of bumping into fellow nesa "MEMBERS" and having a good bit craic whilst untangling lines and moving your gear so the lads with bikes and trolleys can get past.

out of interest wallsendo, when was the last time you fished cambois pier mate?
