hi i have never posted a thread befor i always read the reviews tho so can any 1 help me i am wanting to find a good fishing spot for cod in the noth east im having no look on the shields pier or roker all i get is small stuff could any one give me any advice i would be very greatfull thank you

I'm not the best fisherman to take advice from, but south shields pier is a good shot for some cod when the conditions are right. I've never fished it but it would probably fish the best after a big sea when the sea is dying off. not sure what tides it fishes best, but at a guess i would say two hours before low tide and two hours after. also maybe your bait and casting distance could affect you catching, try big baits you never know you might get a decent cod

Some good cod getting caught around the Marsden area in South Shields, you will need to know the area first, just ask the locals.

marsden beach fished a few times been catching some nice codling outside the marsden crotto couple hours either side of high water when they is a sea on
