As per title really, my last pair of ocean ones only lasted a year and theyre peppered with holes now (mainly round the knees)

Whats everyone got and what they like, are neoprane better ?
The warmer and cheaper the better really :D

Ive searched before asking and couldnt find a thread on this sorry if its been asked already

Cheers.

I wouldn\'t use anything else but neoprene now Bri. Best thing to do is have a look around your local tackle shops at the different prices.
I know frazers of Gateshead have some cheaper ones as well as the better ones but not sure if they would be warm enough. Best thing is to have a look mate.

Jim.

Good point there Jim, you only get what you pay for as they say.

and nowt worse than being cold to spoil your nights fishing. so forget the cheap bit id rather pay a bit more and be comfy.

What ones have you got Jim ? and is 4mm the best thickness for neoprane ?

Cheers.

4 mm is the best I think but you have a choice of different soles that you can choose for wherever you are going to be fishing. Snowbee seem to have the biggest range of cleated, felt or felt and cleated.
I need some new ones but the ones I have will probably do for this winter, I will probably go for the Snowbee ones.
Try them on before you buy them as some people have problems with chest waders.

Jim.

I\'ve had a pair of \"Gerrys of Morecambe\" 4mm neoprene chesties for 3 years now and they\'re still as good as new, and I tend to crawl around in mine a lot, baiting up, looking for my knive etc etc.

I can recommend the Snowbee neoprene waders. They are made from 100% CR neoprene which means that in cold weather it remains really supple and the creases don\'t crack. They also have really thick knee pads.

I fancy a pair of Neoprene Chesties as well,is it best to go for the next size up from your normal shoe size

I\'ve got the stocking foot waders with seperate wading boots. For these you need the shoes to be one size bigger because of the neoprene sock you have on.

Got my Snowbee neoprenes from Billys about 4 years ago - one of the best angling investments I\'ve made - they\'re excellent......goolie deep in the North Sea in January and you don\'t feel any coldness at all. Mind you.....sometimes they can be TOO warm to wear if the weather isn\'t FREEZING.....lol. Even on the coldest of Winter nights I only wear a thin pair of tracksuit bottoms under them.

Yes Alan....I got a whole foot size bigger than I usually take to allow for me wooly sox.

Got some snowbees as well. Only trouble is unless you wear gossamer 20 underneath you end up wet, as TC says. On the coldest nights them and the flotation suit......................scorchio

I your not rang there David.
I tried a pair of SWMBOs tights but didn\'t like them.

Just stick to the stockings and suspenders now lol.

Jim.

I think its the walk to the actual mark that gives us the case of betty swollocks but im not complaining i\'d rather be a tad hot than cold.

Hahahaha....Jim, \"goolie deep\" to me is probably knee deep for most people.

Aye Alan....the stockings & suspenders aren\'t too bad when he\'s got his waders on - it\'s when he gets back to the car park and takes the waders off when the strange looks start ...lol

Bri i have the snowbee prestige waders with the spiked soles and they are spot on for grip and warmth the only thing is they dont do a fuller body size like they do in their other range so they tend to hug and that cause\'s a heat overload on the walk to the mark.
Greys are bringing out some neoprenes this season with the same sort of spiked grip sole and Bigman has had a look @ the samples a rep had and he said they looked the biz, and they do them in fuller body size(if you need that extra room)
he said they look spot on,so it might be worth waiting till they come into the shops.
supposed to be sometime this month.

Lol Jim.....Aye I suppose there are a few car parks where that sort of dress code isn\'t THAT unusual.
But.........do you have to keep flashing your headlights at EVERY car that pulls into the car park???? hahahahahaha
