Well.....like Mark (marksworld), I'd voted Labour all my adult life - until the last couple of General Eections.
I dare say, I was (like many thousands of others) really overjoyed when Labour came to power with Blair as PM. After the years of Tory rule, at last here was a chance of "decency" coming back into politics with a Govt and a leader you could trust.....there was a general feeling of REAL optimism.
Long before the following General Election I'd had my hopes and optimism well & truly shattered. This was NO Labour Party I recognised.....infact, it wasn't "Labour" at all......it was just another Tory Govt under a new name........and remains so. Got to say, I felt gutted (still do) and betrayed. Here was a Party with an ideology and principles I'd been brought up on, supported and believed in all my life, tearing up ALL they had stood for and actually, I think they've "out-Toried" the Tories. NEW Labour = NOT Labour.
I've not voted so called "Labour", since: not in a General Election nor a Local Election.
Problem is - who DO you vote for?........they're all the same. Alright they have different names, but they have the same agenda........self gain and sod the common man.
As far as the man-made Global Warming issue goes - doesn't matter which of the main Parties are in power.......if there's a way of a. making money out of it (and there are BILLIONS to be made), b. continue to stifle the growth of un-developed countries which could prove a future economic threat and c. remain a useful political "tool" they'll keep on propegating the same lies toachieve those ends.
Oh heck, Norman - WHAT HAVE you started .....lol
