Can you re-freeze frozen crab ????

Forgot to put frozen crab back in freezer so have defrosted are they ruined now or can I re freeze them not 100% sure cheers

I think you'll get away with once or twice before it turns to complete mush m8, although everyone has their opinion on this.

This isn't necessarily the correct order, but I'm sure they all can catch fish.

Live> Fresh> Freshly frozen> Frozen/ defrosted/ refrozen> semi-digested> bit of cloth dipped in oil > Tinned> cooked, wrapped in cling film and bought from ASDA

The frequency or likelihood is never going to be an exact science, but just what works for you. I've used bait that's been frozen and defrosted several times and caught fish, when guys next to me using live bait have had nothing (and visa versa obviously)

Dont listen to people who says bin them, they will stink but they are top class still, had mine happen last year when my kid turned me freezer off, but i still used them had a nice few cod off them and a 6lb thorny, just use latex gloves when baiting up as they do stink,,,, top class bait

My freezer went off before and lost my crab about 200 so instead of binning them I re froze them an used them on the hook first to bulk baits out

If there a bit mushy just refreeze then stuff them into squid for big cod baits.

I've refrozen before mick and to be honest still caught using them. Perhaps not as good as a fresh crab but still worth keeping. Do as pighunter says and use them to bulk out other baits maybe?

I refrozon crab just take them out the cling wrap and run under fresh water then dry and rewrap them and freeze again works okay
