set off from corporation quay 8am this morning me and three mates tried for mackeral but could not find any then we headed to st mary,s nothing for about an hour then we got one codling 2lb mark then a ballan wrasse about 2lb then very slow again we decided to go to a wreck near shields pier we were straight into fish we got about 15 codling some good coalies heaviest fish was 6lb all in all not a bad day fish for supper it was getting pretty choppy by the time we came in wind turning eastly forgot to mention got 6 mackeral

Nice one Gary, that's better than a day at work.

Me and the little ‘un fished one of the pier wrecks a couple of weeks ago and found plenty of pan sized fish too. They weren’t just over the wreck but were around for a few hundred yards after which made for a long, easy drift.

This weather is looking like it will give the fish a chance to restock all the wrecks while the boats remain tied up.
