Canny Night

Met up with Gregg and Marc (cod basher) tonight...choice was made pretty quickly that we'd fish the River as the sea was as flat as glass :(...so we headed to the old favourite of High Shore ;)

Very very quiet for what seemed ages , but we were having good craic so it wasn't all bad...we were all getting rattles, with even a couple of crab getting landed

Marc was finally first in with a small Dab - no picture...:red:

Then it was quiet again for a while...until one point where I had literally just rebaited and cast out; and was about to start baiting up another trace when my rod tip started dancing about :o...

40cm whiting :D...deep hooked so kept for scranning :)

A little while later...

another good size Whiting :D...again deep hooked so chucked in the bag

Marc hooked into another little Dab...;)

...then finally got his own decent sized Whiting (he had already caught a couple of tiddlers before this point)

All (decent) Whiting kept, as all of size...the 2 largest ones Gregg guessed the weights to be about 1.2lbs...which when weighed back at the house.............were spot on :exclam::o:D Good call mate ;):D

Target species these days is always Cod...did any of us catch one:question:

As a matter of fact...

Gregg pulled this lunker in :o:D:D

Canny little session - good meeting up with Marc for the first time (fishing that is - he did sell me my beta box after all;)) and good to see Gregg is on a roll with the Cod...that's 2 in 2 sessions now mate ;)

All fish caught on Rag - they wouldn't even sniff at much else

Cheers

Tony ;)

Well done lads, sounds like a canny session. I would of joined you if I didn't have the dreaded man flu virus.
