Canny session with the Yuke rod

I remember, hope to have 500 of those rubymar rods in later this month, the new range for 2014 will be arriving early March but it seems you have found the right match straight away for your needs, I know John Stead has loved his pro surf since he got his, he has had it bent all shapes and you can see a guppy fart from 100 yards with the bite detection

Hi Bri, how do you fish whitburn beach? I assume its whitburn north beach, I went down at low tide weekend before last, and there were no gulleys or holes, plus the beach is shallow, only chance of anything was to cast into the boaters lagoon, but after tide came in, and it was 200 yards away, it was unreachable, the water is only a foot deep in front of the lagoon.
Was I fishing in right place?

on a northerly sea, fish about 30 yards to the right of the steel few hours either side of low water... i find the smaller tides better as it does not empty out as much the bottom is mixed but can be rough after a huge sea due to the swell washing the sand away. It can sometimes be a bit weedy when the sea's big but is a good shot best time is before January IMO

very similar rod, the Q5 is ideally suited to small baits such as maddies, you can hurl it without exploding your baits, its a full c curve rod but the pro surf is a bit stiffer than the Q5, as this thread says the pro surf can take some abuse, it has been replaced this year with a model called the aston, due in the uk very soon
