car body repairs?

Some twonk at work last night opened their door against the side of my CTR. At least they were nice enough to come and find me and admit it.

The damage is a typical parking ding right on the crease line of the car. I want to get it repaired (at his cost) and given his honesty as cheap as possible. Anyone got any ideas where i could get it done in either the consett or Gateshead areas that would do a decent job and not take my/his eyes out?

If i was you i would get a couple of quotes.
Main dealer and local body shop.
I have a mate who does this and have spent some time in his garage and often it is cheaper to simply replace bits then the cost of stripping bits off, prep, filling and sanding, repainting, polishing and refitting the trim.

replacing the bits wont be an option, its a 3 door car and its on the panel where the rear door would be. I would cost a bloody fortune!!

My pal has a bodyshop in wallsend, not sure where your from...give me a shout if you want his details, his charges are competative and he does a good job

my lass has a 3 door rover and she bashed the rear panel, i got a price from one lad and it was £600 just for the panel :o:o:o

codheed before you do anything tell your insurance company and get him to tell his, you might get a shock as to how much it might cost, especially if the dent is in a place that can't be repaired and a new panle has to be put on.

er i wont be informing my insurance company as they will stiff me for ££££ on next years policy and my excess is £250 i hope it will be less than £100 to get fixed. Before you all question the legality of not telling them, i dont have to as the damage wasnt caused by an "accident" as per the legal definition, accidents can only happpen on a road or a public place, this happened in a private car park surrounded by a 12 foot fence and electric gates.
