Carp baits

Has any ever tried supplementing the normal sea baits with fishmeal type carp baits?

Can't see why it would not help and you'd get a great scent trail

the only one which i have tried and was about as successful as other baits was mussel, saying that it wasnt used as hookbait, rather it was poured into my groundbait bowl, but the juices and the mussel meat made it quite a nice concoxion

You can get loads of pastes and boilies that could be wrapped around sinkers and or threaded up the line.

Not quite what i had in mind but how about a normal sea cocktail bait with some fishmeals threaded above the bait?

thats just what i was thinking but with it not being the natural food of sea fish it might not work but you'll never know until you try it.

Cant think how it would not work.

The way to fish it would be to hair rig some boilies onto the trace then mold paste around them.

That way you would be sure you would always have a scent trail in the water

This is something ive been doing for sometime, its the normal bollie mix but with added sea bait, but i dont make the round bollie i make the 24mm sausage and cut into 2"-4" lenght`s insert into finger bandage clingfilm whip on hook done, but! ive only managed 2 fish one was a small mop 1lbs and the other a decent flatie so i cant say they work as good as fresh bait.

There's thousands of us out there fishing with fresh natural bait and getting next to nowt so why bother messing about with processed stuff. It's been tried commercially (lazylug etc) and hasn't changed the world so why bother.

It will have it's results now and again in specific circumstances. Just mess about with proper bait.

With exception to Blacks marine worms don't keep very well, carp baits are all freezable or storable on a shelf.
Natural carp baits work, artificial boilies etc work better that's why they were developed it's not to say natural baits are rubbish they have their place and on the right day etc..
Lazyrag and Lazylug are quite frankly Lazy-innovations, every year carp baits, rigs and innovations move on probably because there is a heck of a lot more money involved in the R&D side of carp angling.

I know someone who uses monster crab bait additive on bits of maky and no iffs or buts he does catch when no one else does, I can't say 100% it's the additive who knows maybe it's worth looking into.
