i used it all winter last season and all i had to show for it was an eel say's a lot i wont be using it so much this season coming

thing is with cart its all about getting the right stuff if it has small red berries in it then you have the right stuff also you must use it still froozen solid or it just doesnt work a thermos flask is ideal for keeping it froozen

were is a good place to buy the proper stuff and how do you no if its good cart or not ?

and whats the best way to prepare it....i saw one lad using it he had used tea bags obviously emptied them first then packed the cart into them and then used elastic cotton to wip them on the hook ?

north east tackle along ryhope road stock it and it is the proper stuff as i have seen it with my own eyes just needs cutting into size baits and bandaging up (best stuff is finger bandage} then back in the freezer it goes tea bags can be used although when you cast out they tend to split easy when you cart make sure you secure it tightly with plenty of elastic cotton

imo i believe during the course of a winters fishing simple lugworm will catch the most.

its the red meat from the crab (from underneath top of the shell thats best ) some retailers may mix it with other parts of the crab to cash in on the weight

Anyone who dismisses any of the best baits (of which Cart is just 1) IS really being a fool to themselves. If you stick to just lugworm, then there will be many occasions that someone with peeler, cart, mussel, tellpie, razer etc etc etc...... will whoop your butt. The best shore anglers on the coast will always have a selection of the best baits of the highest quality residing within their freezer/bait tank or fridge and they will know just what to use and when.

Cart is also an excellent if not the very best uptiding bait you can get for use in our area. Dismiss is at your peril.

my post i was saying during winter months.

having a variety of baits without doubt is the best thing to do,but some people might say how can i afford to have most of the baits it would cost a fortune.

i am pretty sure at certain times cart will be extremely succesful what i have heard about it is it fishes best december jan feb after a real big storm .fished in heavy ground.

i have used cart in the winter, december and january and have had fish on it.
but nothing over two and half pound.

I use finger bandages about 3 inches long but it must be keep frozen, and does not last long when it is in the water,so use it as a cocktail with other bait.

I still have some in the freezer so i am going to try it in september.

i use lugworm in winter usually around december time onwards , ragworm works best months before ,crab baits comes late winter feburary onwards as thats the time they first begin to mooch about ive found softback crab whilst digging in december so they still odd ones peeling but worm is best for winter i think
