just for reasurence is 90 yards far enough to catch cod from the beach as im not sure as i usally fish the pier but i want to fish the beach but not sure if i can cast far enough for cod :D:D regards kyle:D:D

Depends on the beach - if you were fishing Whitley Bay you'd be casting over the fish at 90 yards! 30-40 yards is about all you need there. Similarly at Blyth you'll often catch fish almost at your feet; so many times I've seen lads blow there reels up and dump their baits no more than 20 or 30 yards, then when they've unpicked the birdie they find a fish has taken their bait. Mind you there are also beaches where the further you can chuck, the better your chances - it really depends on the location & lie of the beach.

fished seaton sluice beach a couple of years ago on the nesa north vs south comp and a old lad up the beach was pulling fish in like a trawler and we were blanking so walked over and asked how he was getting so many he says "cast as far as you can " me and my mate were blasting them out and blanked , was only at the end of the night we noticed the old sod was only side casting about 25 yards ha ha
