Casting Distance !!!

With all the banter about casting distances on here lately, a decided to take me gear onto field at work. See what I could get. If someone had if previously asked, I'd of said I put a bait about 150 yds! Total BS !!! Working that a footy pitch is about 100yds I put a plain lead about 150ish! With and overhead thump, and no wind at all! So with a big bait that I usually chuck out, and headwind ect, I reckon I'll be lookin at 100-110yds!! I think alot of people would get a shock if they had a look on a field!! When you see 100 yds marked out, it makes you appreciate what these lads at NESA do, when there gannin 250 ect!! Some boys! Gonna try perfect the pendulum and see if I can get anywhere near the 200!!! Hardest part was gettin the 6oz lead out the Mud!!!

If your chucking 100+ with a big bait in hard conditions(head wind ect) with a overhead cast I wouldn't bother learning to penulum.

for my opion for what is it worth i think 150yds wth a straight overhead cast is a very good cast indeed.may have to try a overhead chuck myself sometime to see my distabce.
was it the penn 525 in pic you used and what dia mono approx.

you need to practice on a lot bigger field mate , allowing for crackoffs etc , and wee dont want any wombles injured , or ya will have uncle bulgaria after ya

If yer want to know how far your chucking when fishing try putting a marker on the line (bit elecys tape) when field chucking, so mark say 80 yds red, 100 yellow etc. ha

doesnt work that way , if ya cast 250 yards there will be around 300 yards of line come of ya reel depends on conditions, only way to get a true measure is over grass
