what kind of rod / reel are you using, how far can you cast, Where abouts do you live / fish. as for the fishing advice i've found there's no one person to ask really best way is to post a Thread on here and get everyones opinion then sea what works for you.

I found the beat way was to just watch the lads on the pier.
Apparantly a multiplyer without a level wind casts 30% further.Such as Slosh, mags etc.
The new fixed spools with the big 15 foot beachcaster are good for huge distances. According to Sea Angler i,m sure its over 200 feet.
I have a abu 7000 fixed to the base of my 12 foot abu beachcaster. Basic stuff for hoying your bait far enough to beat the rocks round a pier. The mags get about a third further but i,m not bothered. Its not really that important on the pier. Beachwork is when you need distance.
I,m planning on my missus buying me a nice combo for xmas. Mag 525 with a nice beachcaster. I also fancy the Okuma Mag-just to be different.

Mick.

thanks

thanks

thanks for advice i live in roker and fish local as it is my first year i ve been fishing the river "sand piont ratty glass centre ect ect....." i own a conoflex enigma and pen 525 with for the winter and use a salt flattie and cheap fixed spool for river.is there any good matches to fish and does aany one on here have success in these.

Cool. with your big rod the trick is loading the rod properly, firstly and i dont wanna sound like a shcool teacher but lake sure you have a good shock leader well tied to your main line, this will absorbe some of the stresses when casting and ensure your line dont snap and you wont kill anyone with a wieght..

the cast its quiet hard to explaine and i'm not the best caster in the world but i can hit over 120m :)

1, Face the way you want to cast, and look to where you want to cast.
2, lay your wieght on the ground behind you at about the 8 oclock posision (12 oclock being infront of you) with a fair lenth of line.
3, bring the rod to about the 7 oclock posision
4, look again at where your trying to cast.
5, DONT try to power your cast like your swinging a sledge hammer less is more to start off.
6, Start your cast slow and power through at the end
7, keep the but off your rod high, this will ensure the lead flys high.

hope this helps, sorry for the poor description, if i could write i'd be an writer not a plumber lol.

practice on the beach or a football field, and practice plenty and you'll soon get it. I'll be out for a practice the back end of next week at shields beach if you want a demo.
