Castlelake at Haggerston Castle

Son is heading up there staying at the 'new' Castlelake area. Apparently there is free fishing in the lake for residents. I guess it will be coarse/silver fish, but does anyone have any knowledge/experience?

I've been there for the last 3 year and the lads in the spar shop on site said he's not seen a thing come out of it lol or anyone fish it. Last year when I was there the lake was absolutely chocka with that fine green pond weed as well mate.

Well he managed to catch some....

Mostly silver fish, but a couple of reasonable roach too.

Tactic seems to be breadflake on a size 20 hook about 450/500mm down.
