Catch and Release on Bluestrike Amble

Out last Sunday, fished just off Alnmouth. A bit late for a catch report, so here is a small video.
It was my first real trip out, me and the wife have had a couple of pottering about sessions, but nothing too serious. Just familiarising ourselves with all things boat fishing.
To say that I enjoyed Sunday would be an understatement. couldn't believe how hard a 3lb cod fights on light gear. I fished various baits all day, frozen lug worm, mussel, crab and frozen prawn, they all caught equally well, fished at anchor and drifting. preferred fishing at anchor, but not sure of the etiquette when there are other boats drifting in the same are. Ended up keeping a dozen or so and return about the same, most returned on purpose!
Can't wait for my next trip out, probably need to try somewhere else other than Alnmouth though, before it becomes equivalent to Scarborough hole from my shore fishing days :)

quality video mate, perfect day to be out..........and the perfect release:D
When at anchor, recognisable by having a large float ball at your bow, craft drifting by should be aware that you are anchored, and it's for them to motor out of your way.

Glad you liked the video Arthur. Thanks for the anchoring advice. I will do as you said, instead of deploying the ball float just when It's time to lift the anchor.
