I think alot of people wern\'t aware of the fact of how handling Mackrel can cause them death,including myself but rest assured the next Mackrel i catch i\'ll know what to do!!!
Can i just say to put the record straight i didn\'t intentionaly go fishing for Mackrel they just happened to be there and it was great sport catching them on a light spinning outfit,mind you the old tennis elbow has started again since the trip but a good day was had.
I\'m off to the tackle shop tommorrow morn to see if they\'ll replace my spinning reel i bought as the amount of fish we caught that day stripped the gears on it,A brand new Shakespear reel who would of thought it but never mind thats part of fishing

Yes TC I did, and have read it.
Likewise, when someone tells me they caught a fish, my immediate response is \'how did you get it off the hook?\'

im same as mark i never knew of this problem till i read this and i agree with him , how many things have us and i meen all us anglers done. everyone has to learn so leave off charlie he thought he was doing his bit for conservation , now we all know and as tc said theres plenty that use mackerel for throwing games theres genuine anglers who cherrish the mackerel for bait for winter or food for them selves

I wonder what would of been said if i had of kept all 300 of them would people be disgusted then?
Looks like i\'ve opened a real can of worms in this topic the good thing that has came out of this is next time i catch a mackrel i wont handle them unless its coming home with me

I bet anyone £5 (RNLI fund) CongerKing is chucked off this site before the Clocks Change - what a Clown ,talk about bleating on about nowt - have a walk along Shields pier Congerking and you will have about 30 \"fisherman \" you can Preach to ,and get them to change their ways on mass slaughter - the fella thought he was doing the right thing by returning his excess catch ,End of story ,live with it - you must be in the Fishing World Cup team ,saying as your the best on here ,or have you also made the odd mistake when fishing BUT learnt from it like Charlie2005 and many others looking in !!!
