Catch report "Grace" 22nd May - Wow!!!

We left Royal Quays at 7.30am and fished a few marks around Cullercoats and Whitley with nothing to show for our efforts. Fishing improved off Blyth and by Sandy Bay we had at least 20 Cod with the best at 8.5lb and 3 decent Ling to 7lb.
Suddenly in mid afternoon we started catching cod in much the same way as Mackerel and often the crew each had several fish on at the same time. We decided to keep a dozen fish for our freezers and return thereafter every fish landed so very soon we were returning fish to 6lb.
We landed well over 100 cod and they were still feeding freely when we reluctantly dragged ourselves away. Truly a memorable day.

Fantastic! seems there's some great fishing to be had if you can hit the right spot at the right time.

Well done lads!

Hell, you all must be knackered with hauling fish along with hot sunshine:D. Don't say on here where you hit the fish, or the nets will be straight in:mad:
Fantastic report, well done:)Arthur
