i was out with a pal yesterday and popped into bagnall and kirkwoods in the town and had a look at the kompressor s and the ss the problem i have is that when sliding the reel seat up and down you can only vary it slightly.

You cant have the reel at the very bottom as you can on the tip tornado LD there are " pieces of sponge 1 at the top and 1 about 9 inches further down which stops the seat from going any higher or lower.
Is there a kompressor that you can get where you can adjust the reel seat to any position on the rod or no.

If not im not sure whether i want to purchase 1 because i like the reel in the low position

Get in touch wiv century mate they might customize one for ya. Dunno what it would cost tho. Failing that ya could strip it an put some new shrink tube on tho I wouldnt know where to start but im sure primoman or micke on ere could point ya in the right direction

The other kompressor, wr300, has a parallel 1" butt. I thought the s and ss were parallel also but thinner.

Those bits of foam move mate, they're there to push up against the reel seat when it's in position - but everyone I know pulls them off completely as they're quite unnecessary. Then again most people seem to bin the century reel seat altogether & put a fuji on - I certainly did with my century's as I thought their reel seats were rather cr@p.

Gary :)

Hello David, the pieces of sponge move on the butt as well, you just slide them along as you move the reel seat to the position you want.
They are just a little cosmetic touch finish off the reel seat.
I have the Kompressor SS and also the S and I like them very much.

Sorry Gary, we were posting replies together. I agree though the genuine fuji seats are much, much, better.
