I have an oldish fish finder, not really been bothered as had other things to spend money on but now i am after a new one.

Quick question....I have a Garmin 100 fish finder and would not like to mess about fitting a new transducer....question is...anyone know what fish finder would be compatable so that i just have to fit the new finder and plug in the old transducer.

Any help would be great.

Hi Richie

The problem with what you are looking at doing is that the garmin transducer will not be of very good quality so if you get a good quality unit it wont be any better as the transducer will be naff

if you are seriously looking at a top piece of kit search for the Koden CVS 118 and that is a top piece of kit

Not after anythign super flash really, at the momen ti have an old Garmin 100 4" screen in black and white...was looking at maybe a 6-8" colour but dont wish to mess on with the transducer until it comes out the water in March next year.

you could use all of them with the same transducer, but garmin transducers are all a bit cack.

buy a decent transducer, mount it in hull so you don't need to take the boat out of the water.

Airmar P79 in hull transducer would be a better start than a new finder, compatible with dozens and dozens of finders, so get the transducer and shop arounf for a finder

koden gear is as good as it gets IMHO, but the p79 will transform the little garmin you've got
