Had a weekend away wth my mate to Skegness and had a couple of fishing trips planned inbetween hangovers so had a day on the sand at Chapel Point.

Fished 4 hours up and 2 down just to make a day of it came away with 4 Flounder non of them size and saw nothing else pulled in from the few locals who appeared to be fishing 4+ up but only 1hour back down.
Lovely bit of beach and weather was great so all in all not too dissapointed but would have loved a nice Bass which is what i was hoping to catch.

Worst part of the day was nesting my reel up after trying it reel down on the rod :( had to change back to reel up as I just couldn't manage it. However my OTG style casting appeared to be improving

Fly fished a Trout Farm the other day we were there and managed one fish to save the blank.

Nice stretch of beach, loads of marks heading north from there, shame you didn't experience a good smoothound run, it can be be great sport when it happens. Couple of weeks ago a lad from Grimsby had a 17.5lb hound off the beach at Sutton on sea just a bit north of chapel!!

I had heard of Smoothounds up to 20lb from the area and a fella landing a near 10lb Bass a few weeks ago which is why we decided to try it.
Good info for next years trip though, thanks.

Sea needs to be flat as a pancake mate... We fished j
Down that way a few weeks back with a 1ft surf and it blew the fishing out totally... Lovely area though
