Chatton Today

Just arrived back from Chatton after a very cold day , especially this morning. Started to fish around about 08.30 and first fish was caught on a nomad,(after reading T.Ls report ) well you have to follow the main man
Finger tips were like blocks of ice after a dozen casts and even retrieving the line was a hardship, looking across the hills and seeing them covered in snow didn't help either.
Surprisingly fish were being caught fairly regular on a variety of lines, floater, intermediate, fast sink and the patterns being used were also a mixed bunch. Fritz flys were the main killer in the morning along with bloodworm and cormorants ( not the bird ), as the day wore on it got a shade warmer and black buzzers came into there own. The dam wall and the East side of the lake were the most productive areas and with a fair stocking arriving mid afternoon it looks good for the weekend.
As usual Allison and Rodger were their excellant selves and with their style of management they are definately heading in the right direction.
Myself and my two friends bagged up no bother and with a few fish safely returned it was another good trip to Chatton.
Off for a cup of coffee so tight lines gents and be safe.

Well done Seddo. I was in two minds yesterday wondering what to do. Sea fish or up the resevoir.
Resevoir might have been more interesting.

Mick.

Not a bad at all Alan, a few bends in the rod makes it all worthwhile:)

If you get a chance to fish Chatton, Alan, Mick or anyone else I'm sure you will find it to be a canny fishery with great hosts.

It appears as if it is getting much more popular, there are a few fishing clubs starting to frequent the place so it would do no harm to give them a tinkle the day before your trip. I reckon midweek will be ok as most of the fisher people are at work, thats the upside of retirement, I can pick and choose:)
Chatton now has their own website so it will give you some idea if you visit Welcome to Chatton Trout Fishery

Cheers seddo
