chavs and mackerel [not what it seems]

don't agree with any of this i've seen the idiots catch maki and tie plastic bottles to them and through them back its disgusting.urinating all over using bad language when people and tourist are walking up and down our piers.total disgrace and give us proper anglers a bad name should close thepiers during summer months and only fish comps. and for writing this you must be a chav yourself.

i'm a 57 year old self employed electrician happly married with my own home and two kids one 20 at uni and one 16 still at school, i drive a renault scenic, enjoy going for meals with my wife, like reading t.s. elliot ,my favorite film is ghandi and i own one pair of trainers, hardly the stuff of that chavs are made from.

I'm kind of in the middle here I agree and disagree with alot of the posts, most of the scum on the piers aren't kids that's for sure. At the same time I have seen kids fishing for mackerel when they don't even know what to do with them after they have caught em, disgraceful.

The pier in Shields stinks of pi$$ constantly IMHO so why on earth the "chavs" get the blame is beyond me, some of the retards fishing in the winter are the same type as those mackerel fishing piers in summer. So summer bringing them out is B*llS**t, fact is no matter how much you, me or him dislike it they are entitled to go and do what they want as much as we are.

I go early to avoid it and go home when the lager louts with cans of beer arrive, as for saying we all have had a few beers while fishing, I have never ever had an alcoholic drink while fishing. Do you drink and drive aswell.?

Quality answer my friend :) I agree with you, its wrong to tar everyone with the same brush and as already said I've seen plenty of so called adults making complete tits of themselves.

Just recently I met a nice bloke who at first I thought would have been a bit of a plonker ( pulled up in a subaru impreza with a flat cap and a yellow barber jumper on ) but he turned out to be a really canny lad, lesson learnt.

seen the piers just like that in the middle january no so called chavs in sight
paul your right
but is does get worse in the summer rubbish ect using the place as a toilet, the pier is a place tourists likes to have walk along, they must think if these people can stand and fish here with the smell of urine and rubbish every ware ,what must there houses be like, also it seems a lot of so called anglers seem to think its ok to throw your rubbish in the water, thats why the bins are there,
as i said paul we just need to show respect for other anglers, familys out for a walk and the pier

totally agree with the 'tarring with the same brush' carry on here!!
yes theres more of the the n#b element and rubbish and smell on the piers and fishing spots around simply because its getting warmer and the fair weather anglers come out from
there winter hibernation with all the new gear and no idea but thats the minority:) plus i think in the winter months theres more of an elite group of anglers and everyone knows everyone so the sight of other unknown ''anglers'' in favoured spots can get peoples backs up but thats the summer for you:D

Unfortunately if you want to fish the piers in the Summer you'll have to put up with a higher concentration of numpties generally ruining it for everyone else, its the same with most things!! I had a very quick crack at Blyth Pier last year when I was back in the summer, it reminded me of the Star Wars Cantina Bar so I only gave it 20 minutes!

If you can, find yourself a nice quiet little rock mark and leave the piers to the Summer professionals!!!

to be fair that description of blyth pier is equally accurate in mid november with a big s.e swell running in... i counted over 50 a while ago, 6oz leads flying all over and rubbish dumped everywhere, they must be the winter professionals eh??
that's why i don't bother with blyth pier anymore

Best thing i have found is do not fish the first few weeks of the season, it tends to get quiet later as they soon get bored and go elsewhere, some have said fish early in the day but i tried that between 6-7 am and they are still there.

Your second rude post on this thread. People might label you a posting chav!:D
no m8 am na chav, just hate going up pier when they are there, end up fishing river or not at all, last year i had a walk up pier came back down behind 4 lads in there mid 20s with bags of mackeral, they chucked them on the rocks at the bottom of shields pier because they could'nt be bothered to carry them home .what a waste put them back if you don't want them.i understand that the younger ones need educating but what about the idiots that don't give a s..t.i would take time myself to help kids to understand what these people do is wrong

huw tinman thats because ur a ten foot monster....fancy a midget angler like me telling others off lol....[/QUOTE ]

size means nowt man just gotta sound hard and most 'charv' people back down, rare ya gotta kick off with them, :D

like you mate and allot of the people on here i go fishing to chill, bit crack on and just enjoy my sesh1, no time for mongs, 'charv of non charv haha

the food chain

the food chain

Hi lads,so nature works like this,if there is wee swimmy fishes such as mackerel there must be big swimmy fishes eating the mackerel,SHARK: i take as i find, alot of the young uns are toe rags,i was one too,b:Dut a lad took me under his wing and taught me the basics of fishing and i honestley believe i could of went down the wrong path when i was younger, instead i fished on a friday, saturday and sunday rock hopping and fishing instead of getting stoned or ****ed,but if you are an idiot fisherman when you are young, you will be an idiot fisherman all your life, would rather sit on a rock, catch nowt, dig my own bait, and hopefully put my hand in a few skeers or turn over a rock where some idiot hasnt has put down a broken bottle or a rusty tin can as a trap, thugs

Get a boat! Avoid the piers! Leave those kids alone, you all go on as if you were never young, yes I did chuck fish at me pals and **** on the pier, that didn't mean I was going to do it all my life,or that im a cock! making judgement on people for the clothes they wear? What's that all about?if I wear corduroys am I a granda??? Pffffft!
