chavs, drunks, druggies, smell of p**s and racism on the pier

It's such a shame as everyone says most Dad's take their kids fishing for the first time on a pier of some sort, a solid stable safe structure with access to deep water and the chance of catching something when the kids can't cast very far. The common trend up and down the country seems to be if you pay to fish a pier you have less grief from ars#holes. I think it introduces some sort of regulation and order and if you are paying some-one to fish you must conform to rules and regs or you get chucked off. It's a sad state of affairs but in my opinion it is the only way to go. Would it really be that gauling to pay say 20 quid to fish a pier for the year and have no grief off morons or at least have it reduced?
Equally one way I would agree with a sea angling licence is if they did something to address the charver problem and sort it out for the majority by policing piers and other well known/popular fishing spots for fish minimum landing sizes and the treatment of fish after they had been caught, as well as getting rid of the quota system and giving recreational sea anglers a say!
I used to love fishing Blyth pier when I was younger for Plaice and codling in the summer, I don't bother now as it is no longer enjoyable unless you fish through the night or first light.

Graham.

thems yobbos dont bother me none, just pull the olde cutlass out me jacket an they sh!t theres pants , if me boat was"nt naccered i wood keel haul the little scurvy faced bilge rats.

the problem we have here is society itself, for whatever reason there seems to be no shame,no respect,no manners and no discipline only a me me me attitude. how do we change it i haven't got a clue ,so called better people than any of us on here i.e. politicians have been trying for years and have failed miserably, do we just put up with the loutish behavior or do we make a stand and if so how and what do we do. confronting drunken yobs just doesn't work ,I've tried it , so what else can we do,well a starter would be to bring back corporal punishment in schools i know a lot of people are against it but it did bring discipline in the classrooms and respect for the teaches, and that's where you have to start when the kids are young, there are many other factors to,home life ,living of benefits ,drug and alcohol misuse etc etc all have to change and we need a government with the balls to change it,whether the present government can remains to be seen .

Spot on Mr. t there is a growing feeling of unrest throughout the country against the unemployed and disabled a great way to deflect the anger towards the MP's expenses (btw they are still at it £65 JSA = one meal with a bottle of wine for an MP on expenses ) im sure to get some stick on here but i feel sorry for some of the youth today no hope no future. oh and now they are targeting people in council housing yeah the nasty party are back sneaked in the back door god help the unemployed and disabled which my wife is one "up the revolution" !!!

unemployment is no excuse, i've had my fair share of being out of work in the past but never turned into a lout. there are a lot of great kids / young adults they are in the majority but unfortunately there is a growing minority of louts, chavs whatever you wish to call them.
i work at nissan decent money but hard (very) work. the number of 16 to 18 year olds that get jobs there and walk out the first week because they can't hack it is unbelievable, they want good money but don't want to do the graft. my wife works in a care home, long hours on just above national minimum wage. they find it really difficult to get staff and yet we have a high unemployment rate.
too many people want an easy life and are unwilling to put anything back into society.
i think "me me me" does probably sum it up !

The younguns are on benefits because theres nee jobs for them , Thatcher saw to that ,there is a certain few on the forums who seem to knock anyone on benefits , if ya loose ya job mate im sure you will fall on the benefit system to survive

what i said was people living off benefits ,not people living on benefits there is a subtle difference

it makes me sick blameing everything on been unemployed what about all the lads layed of a corus redcar the tories and labour did nothing go tell them lads who have families and mortgages to pay that the tories are right.

i voted tory in the elections what a big mistake that was same old tories just with a modern spin bash the poor look after the middle and upper class.

and every 1 goes on about get a job .............were are the jobs ship building gone, coal jobs gone, heavy industry gone, all thanks to our theiving underhand mp`s.

they should take a look at themselves before they start labelling people if a common person did what the mp`s did and steal money yes its theft not a mistake, they would be arrested and jailed.

david cameron is worth 30 million comes from a rich family educated at posh college, he aint got a clue about real life.

and all the mp`s did was me me me and milk the system for all it was worth . most people on benfits live on a pitence the mps stole thousands, and they were on a massive salary anyway.

I havent heard of one 16 to 18 offered work at nissan , can ya get my 15 year old son a job there he leaves school next year , he as been getting brain washed into joining the marines, i will tie him up before he does that . i am serious about the job for the son any help will be much appreciated

it doesn't matter what your age is when you apply to nissan, they are not allowed by law now to discriminate on the grounds of age. i've only been there 3 years and i'm 45. a few years previous there is no way nissan would have offered anyone my age a job. always worth keeping an eye on there website as vacancies do crop up on a regular basis.

Mickey i think unemployment has a great deal to do with it I'll give you an example a shelf stacking job came up a few weeks ago over 70 people applied for it imagine getting turned down for a shelf stacking job your going to think the world has let you down as you say its the minority who are causing the hassle if they could get a decent job I'll bet my last they wouldn't be hanging around piers getting drunk MR T i don't blame you holding onto your lad i would do the same with my boys i hope your lad gets a good job but the way things are going it aint looking good m8 just look what these Tories have done in the few months they have been in government hit the poor the lowest paid ,the sick , but still sneak expenses , overseas aid (billions) the rich tax havens all untouched its time we woke up or as Mickey said we will see the problem growing with disenchanted kids take a look at the daily mail web site the growing hatred towards unemployed people is unbelievable,,,,,,, to think we used to have the biggest merchant navy in the world until past governments sold the living soul of this once great country down the lane for cheaper overseas labour just watch the gap between the rich and the poor get bigger and bigger yet again, we never learn do we ?

ya sound like david camaroon m8

is that a insult or praise ,for the record i have never voted tory in my life and never will ,but living in a free democratic society every one of us is entitled to an opinion and if everybody on this forum agreed on everything every one had to say the chat would be quite boring to say the least

Just to put a few things in perspective on all this Tory bashing. Thatcher has been history for years we have had 13 years for labour to put it right and all they have done is create a debt that my great grand children will be paying off. Blair has made £20 million since he left office, Prescott has become a lord, Mandelson has gone back to the lords. Expenses were a lot higher when labour were in power (3 Labour,1 tory are being done for fraud) so no party is really blamless. all the jobs you talk about have gone because other countries do it cheaper than us, and I can remember working practices in shipyards that were diabolical. i.e Welders waiting for an electrician to turn a switch on etc. That wasn,t the tories that was stupidity
As for Royal Marines. I joined in 1966 when jobs were hard to come by in the NE, lasted 22years and had a great time, son also a Royal Marine and done 13years and still serving. Nothing wrong with any of the services mate just perhaps your attitude towards them.
I don,t know what the answer is but do know a lot of European countries don,t have our problems , perhaps we should learn off them.
Thats my opinion and as someone said it would be a sad day if we all thought the same

100% agree and the Thatcher argument is frankly old hat

Tony - you are of that generation, I am not. My generation (I'm 33) and those younger than me are in debt up the eyeballs because the system chucked money at us and drove the price of living sky high...I can't afford even the notion of having kids as I would have to find an extra £10k a year just to pay for child care - Thatcher had nowt to do with that

Thatcher's legacy will be felt for many many years to come still, yes "new labours" 13 years were a disaster notice i said new labour the real labour party died with the sad death of John Smith wait till the real cuts start to hit around October its going to be vicious but as Cameron said we are all in it together sure we are Mr. hug a hoodie,,, i don't know who said anything about our forces ? if its one thing we brits are very proud of its our armed forces and quite right too

watch my line
