I must be old fashioned,but I thought "fishing" meant trying to tempt a fish from it's natural habitat using a variety of natural baits.Every one I have talked to. who has used powerbait,has said great stuff bagged up in an hour gotta freezerful,etc.So what do you do for the rest of the day,paint the bathroom?I think what I am trying to say is,it seems to take all the fun out of fishing and, as I think someone on here says,it becomes catching.
All the fish in commercial waters now have a bigger average weight,because of the groundbait,pellets boilies etc that get chucked in,great if you want to bag up but no good if you want to fish.

At the end of the day fishing is a multi sport, ie Sea fishing, Coarse Fishing and Fly fishing. Various methods are used to catch your Quarry, natural bait, made-up bait, boilies pellets etc and for Fly Fishing the use of immative patterns using fur, feather and synthetic materials.
Although some resevoirs allow the use of Power Bait and just about everything else you care to imagine to catch your fish, Trout Fisheries have their own specific rules. These rules are not there for the fun of it, they are there to protect the fishery, the fish, the enviroment and a host of other reasons, the main reason is to ensure a visiting angler can spend a good day wetting a line.
As I have said before, if someone cares to use methods which is against fishery rules, STAY AWAY, go to a water that allows multi methods of fishing.
