Thanks to all those who turned out at the Zetland tonight.
It was nice to meet some of the old, familiar faces and great to meet a couple of the newer lads – Pat Pending and Leeruss – glad you could come along :D

To say that Michael Charlton of the RNLI, was “geet chuffed” with our fund raising efforts would be a bit of an understatement. He was amazed that we’d raised so much (almost £3,000) in the short period of 1 year and was delighted to accept our latest cheque for £700.

Just to put the £3,000 into perspective, he gave us a couple of examples of what could be done with that amount of money;

1. Fully kit out an entire offshore lifeboat crew (crew of 6) OR
2. Pay for ALL the fuel used by an offshore lifeboat for a year (and still have £500 left over).

Not bad going for a group of part time anglers, eh ??

As always, I was well proud of NESA and all those who have helped in achieving what we have, so far.

Michael will be sending me a “certificate” on behalf of the RNLI, recognising our achievements and I’m gonna see if it can somehow be incorporated into the NESA banner at the top of the pages on the site (or at least have it displayed in some prominent place on the site).

The only down side to the night was that I had the car and couldn’t have a few pints
I would’ve loved to have stayed longer, but there’s only so much “soft drink” you can take :( …..lol

Thanks for taking and sending the photo, Jim (willywetegg)

Aye, go on ya sod, rub it in...lol....I was drinking cokes ;)

Lol, Keith....
judging by the look on her face, I think she liked the beer a bit TOO much ! (either that or some people just shouldn\'t set foot on a boat - even when it\'s moored....lol)

That rather queesie looking lady in the background of the pic is a bit distracting, but with a bit of Photoshop magic.......she\'s gone....

Lol Jim....
Next time you send me a pic of you with your latest catch, just tell me how big you want the fish to be, m8....lol :o :P

Oops meant to tell you Tony. intended to tell Michael about our plans for fund raising but forgot. I needed information on sponsorship so asked him about it when i sent the picture to him. will let you know what is going on soon mate. Jim.

As was once pointed out by Mark (who we missed tonight sorry you were not there mate) I don\"t get perks. You get them through running this site lol.

Gutted to have missed out, sounds like a canny night. Had a phone call at 5pm about a new client I\'ve been pitching for for a while, came off the phone with more work than I really ought to have agreed to, and needed a small amount of panic time! Haveen\'t told my other half yet but wanna buy a boat with the proceeds!
