Ive seen a pair of leeda neoprene chesties for £40 new, are these any good and if not what do you recommend for around the 40 t0 80 bracket (times are hard you know !)
everyone's got their favourites...at the end of the day, go with what you can afford or like the look of...I went with studded Greys (quite a number of the lads on here will vouch for these) £90 from most tackle shops
i had a pair of quite expensive mustad ones and they were crap
next pair i got was £35 daiwa originals and they are brilliant
it just depends on how they are produced at the time they do say the new daiwa ones arent as good as the originals
Snowbee classics, at £40 they are a bargain, warm as toast and very comfortable. Drawback... not much grip - should have bought the studded version for kelp covered rocks.
ocean studded.
cannot get any better.about £65.
neoprene makes you sweat and most of the studs just fall out or wear out after a few sessions.neoprene are very hard to repair.oceans are by far the best out there at the moment.
greys??
they are in neoprene, and do have a slight wobbly heel.just my opinion anyway.
had 3 pairs of them and they all leaked,2 leaked from the middle stud on the right boot, the other from the groin area, couple of lads in club also had them and they too leaked.
mind you take back to greys and replace no worries.
have used the oceans for a few years and cannot fault them.ok htey are not as warm as the neoprenes but that can be of some disadvantage when moving from rock to rock.
If you want cooler waders for summer look now for breathables on the flyfishing sites - good dollar rate, end of season rates. For first hand advice go to one of the fly fishing forums you can't go wrong here
I wore my breathables out last saturday (£50 deal from Frasiers bout a ton now) as my neoprenes have been hanging on the line since last february (No Lie) and there are gulls and spiders nesting in them, they leak like that fat Royal Navy hostage smoking wife in Iran and have loads of crusty silicone repairs that scratch your tiddler.
The breathables worked fine and were dead comfy, I didn't feel like a rubber freak all neoprened up, there are no spiky bushes to rip them on the sea shore and the felt soled boots I wear with them stick to anything - apart from grass, mud and Liza Minellis ex boyfriends face.
I may wear them all year - plus you get to look like Henry Gilbey
gerge id say for 40 notes there worth a go
i have a pair from askari fishing cost £39 on a sale
salt lake the make there spot on never leaked yet used them to launch the boat/retrieve used them last year in winter shore fishing
there bang on Askari - Everything to make the catch
some good bargains in there
ps some ****e to lol
